Why Typography Matters

After reading the article, it really made me realize how much typography affects the way people understand information, even in situations where you wouldn’t normally think about design. Before this, I probably would have thought the mistake at the Academy Awards was just a simple mix-up, but the article shows how poor visual hierarchy can make it easier for people to misread something. That stood out to me because it proves that design choices aren’t just about making something look nice, they actually impact how clearly information is communicated. I also started thinking about how this applies to things I work on, like presentations, invoices, or even documents for my woodworking business. If the most important information doesn’t stand out, people could easily miss it or misunderstand it.
