Assignment 3

For this design, I wanted to focus on flow and texture. I cropped an image of a river coffee table I made and spent some time editing it to get the texture right and the black matte looking smooth and even. Once I was happy with the image, I positioned it to flow across the page, creating a river effect that leads from the front to the back, just like the piece of furniture itself. For the text, I paid attention to spacing and how the grain and image guide the eye, making everything readable while keeping the layout simple. I used two fonts, one for the title and one for the body text and included a QR code that will eventually link to the website once it’s live. I’m happy with it. The only thing I’d tweak is using a higher-quality image, but this really nails the concept.

I’m not overly thrilled with this design. My goal was to try and utilize the bleed while still creating a margin effect, even though it’s a 7x10 layout. I think I needed more time to add additional information, but I’m still happy with the simplicity. I was debating whether to make it about my launch or my personal business, so I created one version for each. One thing I really like is the font pairing for the title. If I had given myself more time, I could have experimented further and created a more intricate design.
