How to Choose a Typeface
This article made me realize there is a lot more to it than just picking something that looks cool. Fonts actually affect how people feel and how easy something is to read. Two things that stood out to me were legibility and readability. That makes sense because even a good font can be hard to read if it’s set up poorly.
Another point I liked was choosing a font that matches the mood or purpose. That reminds me of design in general. Whether it’s artwork, woodworking, or even things I do with social media, everything should match the feeling you’re going for. If it doesn’t match, people notice, even if they don’t know why.
I also liked the advice about not overcomplicating things and sometimes sticking with classic combinations. Simple and clear usually works better than trying to be flashy for no reason. I notice this a lot when I am posting on Instagram. The simpler, the better and the more common text normally get the best engagement because people are used to it and "understand" it. In the end, the goal isn’t just to make something look good, but to make sure the message is clear and fits the audience.
