Website Sketch

I’m creating a woodworking website to showcase my custom projects, share my process, and connect with people who appreciate handcrafted work. I chose a clean and simple design because I want the focus to be on the pieces themselves, making it easy for visitors to browse my work, learn about my craft, and engage with my community.

Pages and Structure

I decided on a six-page structure that gives visitors everything they need without overwhelming them:

  1. Home – A big image of one of my best pieces, with a clear tagline and a quick call to action. This is the first impression, so it needs to say “woodworking” immediately.

  2. About – My story, etc.

  3. Portfolio – A gallery of projects.

  4. Shop

    • Custom Work & Services (request a commission, order woodworking plans, etc.)

    • Merch (hats, shirts, mugs, stickers, etc.)

  5. Classes – Schedule, pricing, signup form for in-person woodworking classes.

  6. YouTube – Featured videos and a link to the channel.

Final Thoughts

My goal is for the site to “get out of the way” so visitors can focus on the work itself. Navigation will be obvious, words will be simple, and every page will make it clear where you are and what you can do next.
